I'm moving my current qmail-ldap config from redhat to solaris.
I'm getting an error when building qmail-lspawn. As suggested in one of the
distributed files i added -lresolv to the LDAPLIBS entry, but it doesn't
work.
Could this be to solaris10 (i'm also installing qmail inside a zone).

If I install qmail-ldap, do I have to create .qmail files?
Supposing that I am not using qmail-control patch.
What about automatic creation of mail dirs then?
In that case do I have to explicitely create .qmail files
for every user?

I have been trying to sort out the problem with my qmail-ldap
(please refer to thread *qmail local delivery failure*). One thing
I noticed there that when I changed rc script to set one more
environment variable LOGLEVEL=127 before it starts qmail
it did no

You don't need .qmail files in a virtual user setup at all.
The control-patch has nothign to do with that.

It was amazing to me that qmail-ldap is rejecting mails when RCPTCHECK
is set and the LDAP-server is not reachable / down / what ever.
I think it would be more reasonable if in such a case (LDAP server down)
qmail-ldap despite of RCPTCHECK accept mail.

Currently I don't see any danger because of this. A simple process limit
stops this
You can use tls/ssl patch for tcpdump (see qmailldap site).
