yes, i was able to resolve this and it just happened that i diabled the Mailguard feature which is on by default on all cisco firewalls, and since then it worked like a charm. It may not be these perms as I have the same on my QT and I'm working OK.  I also use SMTP auth to send via my QT and it works great.  In fact the only thing I can't get working (and not sure it's in QT) is the pop before smtp patch so you don't actually need to SMTP auth - you can simply pop mai
