I've been one of those beds and YES THEY ARE VER LOUD! I can't imagine using an
ICU in that bed. When I was in one in Kessler they very rarely tuned me.

I had one of those for about a week. I just couldn't handle it. It was almost
impossible for me to get in and out of. When the motor shuts off, the sand
becomes hard as concrete. It is very effective at eliminating pressure, just
too difficult for this old quad to manipulate.
