Lori, your story breaks my heart, and the sad and frightening thing is most of
us are just one incident away from the same situation, including me. I've said
it many times before...I don't know if it's worth it. Like the rest of us, I
keep on keepin on.

Anyone with a colostomy also wear a abdominal binder?
I can't find a binder that fits over one. Right now I just cut a hole in the
binder, but it just frays apart real fast.

After my stoma my quad belly went down a lot, but it sure came back. Bigger
than ever.
Even a binder does nothing for it.
When laying on my back, my stomach looks pretty flat. But once I sit up... it
just flop out.
It actually gets uncomfortable.
Exercising really does nothing for that area,
My quad belly bothers me more than any other change in appearance that
quadriplegia imposed. Gnarled fingers, atrophied legs, sunken chest? I can
manage. But the slow expansion of my belly bothers me constantly. The fact
that I can't seem to do anything to affect it is maddening. I know passing
