The doc who did my tendon transfer also put a pin in my thumb and really tightened my index finger so that my thumb would supposedly pinch against the index finger. The pinch never really occurred. Instead the straight thumb just got in the way, the index finger was too curled and the pin broke.

There is an alternative to surgery for tended transfers. I went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota to see about tended transfers. They have approximately and 80% success rate but if something does not go well there is no turning back and you're going to lose what you already hav
