Thanks to Google's Android Font and the smart guy extracting the font, now we have the perfect font for the radio. The DroidSansFallback.ttf font is only 3MB in size and supports latin, japanese, traditional and simplified chinese. Download the system tar at the following link, extract and copy

Thanks for the instructions above -- it does work. But for me the new font makes the menus look weird, and does not have a complete set of simplified characters, which means leaves lots of gaps all around. It's a bit crappy. And having to SSH in to my radio to kludge it is not what I call user-fri

Was being happy too soon. As usual, things aren't that easy. Do not replace the FreeSans.ttf font with unicode font. If you replace the FreeSans.ttf font with unicode font, the time module will not get time updates from the squeezeboxserver and change time zone function will not respond at all.
