Freescale iMX25 and MX35 can both support upto 256MB of DDR2 per chip
select and they have 2, ie 512MB (at 266MHz), so the RAM size is
obviously down to costs and needs. The MX25 is 16bit max. though which
obviously halves the bandwidth vs. the iMX35. The iMX35 also benefits
from 128KB of L2 cache

Fwiw, I just checked the wiki
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/HardwareComparison) as well as a
couple posts for the CPU and RAM specs:
SB Touch
Freescale i.MX35 533 MHz ARM11
128MB 32-bit bus DDR2 SDRAM
SB Radio
Freescale i.MX25 400 MHz ARM926EJ
64MB 16-bit bus DDR2 DRAM

Good idea, but it's more than slapping a USB port on the SB Radio. I
forget the specs, but the SB Radio's CPU is at least a notch or two
below that of the SB Touch. The SB Touch will run the server software
reliably only if it is pared down (no web ui, no plugins, no
transcoding) -- I doubt there
Hi all
So far I've really enjoyed using the squeezebox radio -- but I'd love
just a small modification.
Could a future product allow connection of a USB disk and play music
from the local device -- I've got about 300 GB of music stored on one of
those nice tiny WD passport USB disks. Would be gre
