Why do you enable any port forwarding *from* the Internet to your
Squeezebox? The Squeezebox will use the ports as *destination* ports to
connect to mysb.com in the Internet cloud and it is not necessary to
enable port forwarding as long as you do not want to connect *from* the
Internet to your
Hi jo-wie,
I enabled port forwarding because I was told to do so by Logitech
support.
And yes, I do think it's crazy that I have to mess with all this stuff,
just to get this radio to work without having SqueezeBox Server running
on my computer. And it still doesn't work.
So I still don't know
I agree that port forwarding has nothing to do with your problem. Port
forwarding would come into play if you set up your Radio at another
location and wanted it to connect to your server via the Internet.
The ports are being blocked going out. These would be configured in
your firewall rules.
Hi, I tried setting security to Low, but that didn't help. Outbound
policy is set to 'accept' on Medium as well.
I certainly don't want to accept all inbound requests by keeping the
setting on 'Low'.
Also when I run diagnostics on the radio it does say OK on all the
ports, see my first post.
I'd take the Radio to another WiFi network and try it.
If it connects and plays then you know it's the router.
If it doesn't connect and play it may well be a Radio problem.
At this point you are not sure if it is a Radio or router issue and you
really need to eliminate one as a possible

Good point, I'll do that.

Oofda, thanks for your help again.
I changed the squeezebox to a static ip address (advanced - ip address
distribution - connection list)
so now it says:
Squeezebox 192.168.1.3 00:05:16:47:0c:27 Static
The rest of my network is still set to 'Dynamic'
When I look in the 'Main'
Thanks for your help!
I tried the PFPortchecker and somehow it seems that my ports are not
accessible from the outside. That explains the issue probably!
I really thought I had set port forwarding up correctly (logitech
support verified my port forwarding rules)
One thing I didn't do was,
I think your problem may be the ip address you've chosen. Pay special
attention to this quote from portforward.com on their static ip guide.
The ip address you choose should be very similar to the router's ip
address. Only the last number of the ip address should be different. If
the router's
I just setup my new squeezebox radio with fios and your same router as
you the other day. It took me a couple hours to get the ports forwarded
right. Port forwarding on the MI424-WR seems unnecessarily difficult to
me from any of the other routers I've used. Basically what you need to
do, if
