With 7.5.1 there is a WOL 5 minutes ahead of the alarm.

I seem to remember there was a way mentioned in some thread or other
(better search the forums, though). Iirc you had to modify the
AlarmSnoozeApplet.lua on the Radio.

I have the exact same problem: the alarm goes on with that unbearable
music. Then, if I snooze it, it sounds 10 minutes later with the
correct playlist I've set.
So it seams that the problem is that my server does not wake up in 10
seconds (and WOL is not sent or ignored). Is it possible to make
Well, I do think they are willing to work on it (they might even be
working on it right now) but a complete redesign would most probably
take quite a lot of work to do properly, so I would not expect a
solution to the alarm woes very soon.

The alarm (and probably the whole system(software design) is simply
broken and there's no need for experiments on your side to fix it since
you can't. Indeed the alarm was broken from the very beginning. It only
kinda worked with 7.4.2 in parts of February/March. With version before
7.4.2 and even
I have been having a problem with the alarm too (mysb and 7.5.), but
not consistently. This morning I was awake before the alarm and heard a
couple of seconds of the radio station that is the alarm sound (set
both on radio and mysb) and then suddenly the backup alarm kicked in.
I am sure I re
I too have been having the same problems with the alarm as follows:

Is there any progress with the wake-on-lan not working for the alarm?
The radio should fire a magic packet 10 minutes before the scheduled
time to wake up the server, but clearly its not working. No packet gets

I just voted for the bug because I experience this too.
We need to determine a workaround for this. The default alarm startles
me every morning I hear it instead of being woken up gently by my chosen
alarm.

Having exactly the same problem. Glad to see it's not just my radio!
Impatiently awaiting a fix...

I've also filed one... Bug 15663. Which one is yours? I'd like to vote
for it as well since this bug really is getting on my nerves.

Hi,
well, the bug also exists in the 7.5 releases and nobody seems to care?
Somehow I wonder if it is that complicated to send the WOL a few
minutes before an alarm... this would solve a lot of problems people
are experiencing with the SB radio alarm feature and SBS power-save.
Regards!

You should create a bug in bugzilla. As the function is there - just not
working - maybe there is a chance to get it fixed soon.
Post the bug-report so that other can vote.

After a firmware update you need to overwrite the mp3 again.

Cheers. I'll change it for something more morning friendly and just
hope it won't be overwritten by firmware updates.
I'll see if I can provide a log next time.
yeah there wasn't any WOL paket 10 minutes before the alarm. I've setted
up a sniffer but there isn't any paket.
So it seems to be a bug? Is there any dev who can confirm that?

The radio is supposed to send a WOL 10minutes before the alarm in
7.4.2.
I'm not sure it really does - the code is there - but the one time I
turned on a network sniffer I couldn't see any WOL (could have made a

your server wakes up too late.
Alarm is set at 17:55, at 17:55:10 the fallback alarm fires, only at
17:55:29 your server is up and running.
Your server must be up before 17:55 for a working alarm.

Your could provide the server-logs for more details (can be downloaded
on the WebUI)..
You could also enable Remote Access to your radio (AdvancedSettings)
and the download the /var/log/messages from the Radio with a program
like WinSCP after this has happened.
