I have both MUSA and the Zoics linked by David. The Musa is nicely made, but
flaps in the wind. with a loose fit, headwinds can be somewhat irritating, as
your shorts blow up up your leg. The MUSA has normal back pockets which are
very handy. The Zoics stay in place and are more comfortable to

I'm not sure what you are asking.
I have never seen a fork with a lug.
I am referring to the head lugs.
The top one has points that curve around to the front
and a window in the point.
The bottom lug has neither.

Actually, my implication was that the average bike shop does not have
interest in stocking / displaying a versatile steel bike, although
they might get a Soma or Surly at your request. That said, I think
there is room for a Sam in your future. I think you should probably

Thanks for the replies. I think I may stick with Ex Officio's for

From the photos it appears the belt could be replaced rather simply as
it appears only to be stitched in one place but I'd rather get

Hi Jay,
Just to correct my original reply to you, I was referring to the fork
crowns.
The two samples of Sam Hillborne by Brian of Renaissance bike, show
two different fork crowns used. The one on the orange is I think the
fancier one used on AHH. While on the green is the same on my Bleriot.
The hassle of having to stock forks with different steering tube lengths is
offered up as one reason why the other bike makers of the world went crazy
about threadless forks.
cheers,

thanks much appreciated, Im surprised by how much the standovers vary
from the info on Riv's site, maybe its just tire diameters vary a lot.
My 61cm atlantis is closer to a 87cm standover with 35mm panaracers,
much taller than the 85.1 on the website.
