William,
You have been a big help! :) these adapters used to be a dime a dozen 10 years
ago. Now they are like hen's teeth. I think the nature of bike parts
manufacture complicates things too because small parts like these are made in
batches.

Not sure if it qualifies as elegant (more at... unobtrusive?), but this is
the one I
usehttp://www.upgradecycle.com/eleven81-cl-fd-28-6.html#.UjLWeza698E,
though I didn't buy it from them.
Useful because it affords height adjustment. Tried the IRD style, but ran
into interference problems
I found this one on IRD's website about as elegant as you're going
to find.

I dunno-there's some pretty good hills in Zurich as I recall...the cassette
probably just looks big in relation to the smaller wheels/frame.
It's a beautiful bike, and what a great area to ride it in!

Garth, thanks.
That looks like the current winner.
It is unfortunate that riv sells IRD fds but a different brand of clamp
adapter. I am going to call them today though. Sometimes they have items
around that don't make it to the website.

I like the functionality of the one Riv sells. If you decide to change

with a braze-on) and don't have to readjust the rotational alignment at the

I bought the original mustache bars from Riv about a year or so ago.
They've had very light use and are in fine shape. Selling for $45 via
Paypal including shipping.
Thanks,
