Hum... If the outer aluminum has deformed threads and you can justify "bashing" as "crashing", you might be able to leverage VP Components "Crash Warranty". Probably worth a call (800 number on VP-USA website) and polite inquiry. If desperate, there are ways you could re-tap the threads, but
