that I could ride for longer than 20 miles comfortably. I've always ended
up with sore sit bones, numb soft tissue, or both. This has really limited
my ability to go on longer trips and after my five day ride on the C
I have been all about the coastal grandma trend this summer, so I've been
wearing a lot of flowy wide-legged pants. All of my current bikes have
exposed chains, so what I've been doing is the peg and fold (as mentioned
above) to my knee on the drive side leg while riding, then a quick unfold

LOT easier than fenders) and I've used it with both 60cm and 57cm tires, no
problem. Even on muddy paths the tire clearance hasn't been an issue,
surprisingly. It's a nice bit of extra security when I'm locking up around
the city, so I'm a fan.

So funny that you posted this-I have that cage on my Platypus! It is in
fact an otter, from local-to-me company Portland Design Works. Can confirm
it holds a water bottle as tightly as a mama otter holds her baby. :)

As someone who's getting a 60cm olive green, I can't wait to see that size
and color either! I hope the 60cm look as nicely proportioned as the

My boyfriend is replacing his Disc Trucker with a Clem L 52cm. On test
rides, he said the Clem climbed better and accelerated faster, while still
being able to carry a lot. That's been his main complaint with the
Trucker-it's great for carrying a lot, but is tortoise-like. Since we
