Jeff, I will try to find the camera this weekend and post pictures. My wife and I have toured over 2000 miles with this setup. I haven't found any problems, other than there needs to be a slight mismatch between the rack and the decaleur bar pins spacing. This helps to keep the bag in

Bill, actually wasn't badmouthing your setup. Lone Peak makes great bags - I have a pair of their panniers, and they made my first trunk bag. The Alta has a bar clamp - if you're using it, you have the bag well secured at top. My point was about using the Carradice tall rando bag on the VO

Not a Riv frame, but a tall vintage Raleigh - essentially 64cm - a tall 11-liter rando bag on mini Nitto front rack with Bertoud 121mm horizontal decaleur. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/bulldog1935/Raleigh/aP4130005.jpg Decaleur came from Boulder cycles (renehersestore.com). The

ps - this is using the Acorn tall rando bag, which is the same height as the Bertoud 28 bag, and I have 15-16cm of stem above the headset. On Thursday, April 25, 2013 7:54:55 AM UTC-5, Ron Mc wrote: Not a Riv frame, but a tall vintage Raleigh - essentially 64cm - a tall 11-liter rando bag

Jeff, I have a 64 cm Ram with a VO Randonneur Front Rack with Integrated Decaleur and a Lone Peak H-100 Alta Handlebar Pack. I used P clips for the rack. The bag is standard height. This works for me because I have STI and can't read the map case without my glasses. The Ram is a great

Have the same VO rack on my daughter's bike and we use the decaleur to attach a rattan basket, for which it works great. But think about this for your 12-liter bag - the entire vertical mass of your loaded bag would act in torsion on the your fork bolt, and gravity would help (in a bad way).

Hi Ron, I forgot to ask, will the Bertoud horizontal decaleur work with the Nitto Delux stems you think? Thanks Jeff Denver On Thursday, April 25, 2013 6:54:55 AM UTC-6, Ron Mc wrote: Not a Riv frame, but a tall vintage Raleigh - essentially 64cm - a tall 11-liter rando bag on mini Nitto

Ron, thanks for the nice write-up. Do you have issues with reaching into the handlebar bag and having the bottom be really far away. For example, while riding, could you reach a ClifBar that had gone to the bottom? Also, do you mind the top of the bag not being close to the handlebar

Thanks a lot Ron. I actually tried to buy the Acorn tall rando bag yesterday but was too slow. Those are hard to get a hold of. I go to the Rene Herse shop quite a bit so I'll take my bike and try it out. Thanks for the info. Jeff Denver On Thursday, April 25, 2013 7:17:53 AM UTC-6, Ron
