Tires just aren't all that expensive. If you shop around online, end of season, etc you can get pretty decent deals on mass market tires like Schwalbe and Panaracer. Hetres and Riv tires maybe not so much. I guess there are some people here who do serious annual mileage, so cost might be an issue

On a related note, Rawland Cycles is working with Kirk Pacenti to produce a Mini-Moto. This will be a 650b 43c knobbie. It's a particularly exciting development considering that many frames won't fit the wider 2.0 650b Quasi-Moto. They are need preorders for 300 tires via the Rawland site.

To get back to this idea - guess it depends on the tire and use. I got rid of a pair of tires after 50 miles, one flat and one other serious cut in the casing. Otherwise, generally run tires until I start getting flats or I feel it's time to change. Like not wanting to commute in the dark and

Tires have a shelf life. I wouldn't get too many years ahead of myself. My guess is any discount would be on identical tires or perhaps a mix of sizes of the same tire. On the Riv rides I've been on, everyone has their own idea of the best tire, with little agreement. Now, if we could just get
