Hi Jason
I would see if your inverter company has an engineer that can send a letter or
pay Bill B to write one.
I don't see how you can get out of his logic of yet another well written piece
of code.

This has reached a new level of misinterpretation. See my response and
inspector's further misinterpretation regarding fastening of breakers. I'm
at a loss of what to do now. I would just have the backfed breakers
fastened, but the clips can't be installed on adjacent breakers, so it's
impossible
Maybe a bit off point, but when ever I install anything over two strings (and sometimes even then), I set up each string on it's own OCPD / Disco. like in the marine industry. Sometimes even with a trimetric on each string. I have one Off Grid customer (yes, a bit of a character, but smart enough
I have these same modules at my home (circa 2002 i believe). I have found
issues with two modules (out of 30 mods) that had intermittent connections
due to the spot welds opening on the tabs coming from the back sheet, going
to the diodes in the j box. I fixed it with very small stainless machine
Afternoon wrenches,
I have a friend who I helped install second hand modules onto a pergola
structure at their home.
The system is as follows:
44 - Siemens SP-150
1 - SMA SB6000US-12 (XFMR unit)
Since install, they have not produced half of what they should be. I have
tested the diodes and
Just when I thought I was becoming a battery guru, this came up: A customer
asked me if he could purchase two different size 12 volt Lifeline (Concorde)
AGM batteries and connect them in parallel. Of course I told him this was a bad
idea and all his parallel batteries should be same make, age,

Have you looked at cell fractures, l just replaced a module running on
enphase and it had fractures in the cell VOC was fine but under load there
was just over 50% power. I have also had ribbin connection fail, you might
be able to see burn marks un the back of the modules.

Hi steve.
Is the output from each string of 11 the same?
Have you tried ruining 1 string at a time?

The battery engineers at the outfit that first taught me how to install
using buss bars cabling individual series strings in parallel to the buss
bars were also adamant that using that configuration would allow for
different size and capacity batteries to be installed in the same bank. I
Even if it works for short term testing, I would imagine long term
issues that would require more frequent equalization, and shorter cycle
life.
