Hello, Jay & All~ Anytime the battery mfr. has a solution that is pre-baked into their product--that's +1 for avoiding later warranty disputes, etc. I'm glad to learn that LifeBlue is doing a "divert the charge DC method" for cold lithiums, which seems quite logical to me.

Jay, I faced this issue recently with a Blue Ion system. Blue Planet tech support sent me a clear description of the solution worked out by a Utah installer, Gardner Energy in West Haven, that was brilliant. It used an 18W and a 24W reptile terrarium heater placed between layers of batteries

Jay,             I would think this might be pretty riskyI think of the difficulty in being sure all the cells were uniformly warmed.  I guess if they were in an enclosure and the ambient in there was held at some determined temp for ? (many) hours then one could assume? all the cells

I have an old off grid customer looking for a greenhouse fan, about 20”, to run direct off an old 48w 12v module. Backwoods is listing DC Super Fans that say battery based and not intended to operate direct from solar module. Where can we get a fan to fit the bill for PV direct operation?
