All, thanks for the responses. I greatly appreciate it. Yes the 30 amp
disco is non-fusible and rated for full load. True, you have to check
the manu's specs. You _always_ should check the manufacturers specs.
Anyway, 705.22(4) indicates the disco:

I agree Blake - you have to check the specs and consult the mfg. The same is
true with combiners, some are rated for continuous duty/full load, and some are
not. Lots of large systems out there with 200A combiners connected to 250A
OCPDs (and 250A conductors, but that’s another story...).
All, the engineer came back with 705.22(4) to back up his request. I
think that's the end of it. Per code he is right but since the inverter
is only capable of 25 amps, the only time the 30 amp disco would see
more than 30 amps is if the inverter was shorted. If that's the case

I have run into this many times and have never found a definitive answer.
The disconnect spec typically says that it must be protected with an ocpd
at or less than the disco rating, but we are dealing with a current limited
device (inverter) in this case so it would seem legal to me.

Not going through the NEC, but it doesn't make sense to me to put in an
OCPD greater than the rating of the switch. I am sure you can find in
the spec sheet what the maximum OCPD allowed is. Chris

Fellow Wrenches, I'm having a discussion with a utility engineer
regarding the following situation:
Installing a 6kW inverter that has a full rated output of 25 amps. 80%
of 30 is 24. That means to me I need to go up to a 40 amp breaker. I'm
running #8 (continuous load 25 x 1.25 etc.)

Hello all,
Is there any entity that is covering Solarworld warranties?
Thanks,

I have disassembled many of these pallets. On flat ground they stand up
very well in their corner protectors. In fact they are a bit difficult to
get out. We raise one side of the truck or trailer a bit and let the stack
rest against a wall or something heavy and it works just fine.

Bill,
Sometimes we add some duct tape to the corner guards on the side-stacked module
skids, so as you unpack you peel tape back one module at a time. Helps them
stay together as a unit and not tip.
Careful with those Mission modules! We had a couple skids of those and the

I hope your trailer has side walls. Load the pallet near one side of your
trailer. Encourage modules to lean that direction as you cut the bands. If
you are worried about travelling with the load off-center, take some extra
pallets to stack between the modules and the downhill side of
