August,
While compatible, I mentioned in another recent thread that Geocel 4500
lacks testing to ASTM standards. If you have an AHJ that cares about that
kind of stuff, you might want to pass it by them first. Geocel 2300 and
3300 do meet ASTM standards per the manufacturer.

If you can identify the brand, maybe try Anchor Products. We use their
hardware on TPO. We screw down the attachments (they also make a
non-penetrating version) and the roofer comes in behind to seal the patch.
It's a breeze.

This seems odd. I thought they had a 25 year warranty originally with labor
compensation, then went to 15 year at some point with no labor
compensation. We have lots of M190s out there that were sold with labor

Has anyone run into Firestone brand metal roofing? A local roofer is trying

There are two issues that make the article overly simplistic I think.
- As the author admits, the calculations only work for arrays with due
south orientation and states that "Solar panels should always face true
south."
- The article ignores weather/temperature, which is one reason th

NEC 2011 - one inspectors misinterpretation of the code below for your

ambiguous. Appropriate use of commas by code writers would be very helpful.
I was able to find Mike Holt's guide that clears it up, so hopefully that

Clarification - it's square root of 3, not 2, and if the Inverter Output
Current is specified on a datasheet for a 3-phase inverter, it would
already have the factor applied and that is the rating used to apply to
1.25x factor.
For example, Sunny Tripower 12,000 has a inverter output rating of:
1
take the total number of
microinverters times the rating time 1.25 to get the combined circuit wire
size and OCPD requirements.
The same methodology would apply to string inverters.

Has anyone actually implemented 80kW of paralleled Radian power output, and
if so, what battery and capacity did you use?

I'm sure there are unique experiences from around the country with snow,
freeze/thaw cycles, expansion/contraction, and other phenomenon that could
differ drastically from place to place. Maybe we're trying to shoehorn a
single solution into a problem that has more than one answer.
No first-hand experience with it, but there is one from Eco-Fasten:

"If you place a flat object on top of roofing without an uphill material
lapping over the downhill object, you are not flashing. "
By that logic, an Oatey boot is not a flashing for a plumbing vent on a
metal roof.
Just sayin'...

This started as an asphalt shingle attachment discussion, so it's important
to note that many of the sealants from Sika are NOT compatible with
asphaltic/bitumunous surfaces. Many competitors are still using products
from this company that are specifically noted by the manufacturer as not
compatibl
ssarily good for the industry.
