Darryl has a good point. I've intentionally shaded my array (9 modules in
series) and have seen the VDC drop from 225vdc or so to around 170ish. Basic
string sizing with these modules and this inverter say 8 is the minimum number
of modules, but 8 would drop me out of MPPT during shade issues, w
The only one I know of is the SMA 1800. SMAs 700 also has 120V output, but has
a low array input current.

When I get home I will send you the link to my Tigo system on my home. I just
installed it, but the few times I fired it up, I saw increased production.

I was wondering about battery charging using Tigos. I have a few spare Tigos
and modules for them lying around and was thinking of using them with a magnum
to run my radon fan and chest freezer.
Since the Tigos have MPPT built in, would the use of a MPPTing charge
controller be unnecessary?
I have Tigos on my system at home. I have very little shading on my array but I
wanted to test these out. I do see increased harvest from my array using the
Tigos. If you contact me off list I will send you the link to my systems so you
can check it out. They do seem to work as advertised. I hav

Sorry for the blue text.

I just finished a job on a home where the utility didn't require the utility
disco. They contend that the service disconnect on the "farmer panel" meter
base will work for them. I said cool and didn't put one in. The inspector said
he couldn't sticker the project because the utility disco was
I've seen a couple of those sharps up here. The guy bought em on-line with
Enphase in a package deal. They had been up for 3 years and two of the modules
had the lower portion of the frame come off in heavy snow. Seemed unlike a
sharp module to me. He had bought more and wanted us to do the ele
optimization.

I think some Solectria inverters have a low number (115vdc). The Solectrias I
have worked with had a max DC voltage of 400vdc though.

Did Silicon Energy get its inverter from Motech? I think they did. I have one
installed and I would like that info if something comes up.
