I think my "wattsuns" look fine with just wire ties and not really any special effort. It does sound nice to go in the rail. I can put a pix in here later when I get home if you ask? Not worried about squirrels here but I would like to get some of the metal bird protector (often seen at airports)

With Solarworld/SnapNRack we run wires in the rail and use clips on the long edge of the frame when needed. SnapNRack has a clip that fits in the upper rail groove to hold wires down into it. The snap n rack part you are referencing (I think they call it 'box frame adapter') is good if you want to
