Hi All,
Does anyone know if there is a render tag that can check the current
project variant, like the one for the language variant:
so that we can publish different text, if a different project variant
is published, without needing separate templates for each, as this

In the RQL Doku manual it says that we can call a User-defined job,
we have tried this using the user that normally calls it from within
RedDot, an account that was set up specially for it, but we keep
getting No Rights error message, what rights are needed to call a user

Sids,
The only one I am aware of is the Navigation Manager PDF that comes
with the install of Red Dot.

Hi D,
I found this in the manual:
<%!! Store:item.Name !!%>
<%!! Store:item.Type !!%>
<%!! Store:item.GetHtml() !!%>
I did try it at one point on a template and it needed a bit of
tweeking, (which I have now forgotton, sorry) but it did list all the
elements.
Hope it helps.

I have just found out that my project needs an authorisation for page

Hi guys,
Thanks for the responses, I also contacted support at the same time
and they have suggested the sturctural workflow route as well, which I
think may be ok for this project, but not for many others (no moving

Hi All,
I am using RedDot 9 with Nav Man enabled. I have a generic navigation
template that can have different pages connected to its list. I now

That made me feel stupid, but it works like a charm, at least I have
the consolation that it is not in the documentation I have for Render
Tags. Thanks Stefan.

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the link, Google translate is not brillant, but I get the

dmackerman,
You can create a different template for each project varient.
Go to Administer Content Classes in Smart Tree and expand the content
class you want to change, there will be a node called templates, if it
is set up already you will have more than one template with the name
of the proje

Thanks.

I know its not an answer to your question, but to stop you re-
inventing the wheel, there already is a wrapper in .Net for RQL by
RustyLogic. We are using it ourselves and you can download the files
from this site, I think that more work can be done on it, but we have
only needed to do small bits
Hi Arsalan,
We have emails working from v9, but have never experienced an issue
with it, so have never had to find the logs, however the only time we
have not had emails was when the user didn't have an address in their
Red Dot profile, it has to be added manually in our system, so some

Has anyone had any issues or noticed any major improvments in
performance when upgrading from v9 SP1 (we have got the .Net page

going to call it) has any major performance improvments? We are

All,
I have been looking at simplifying my templates recently, in order to
attempt to streamline our publish. It has been recommended that we
take out the render tags from our pre-execute code, however I am
struggling to find an alternative option.
We get our data out of Red Dot by adding it to

Hi Andreas,
Sorry, should have said, that is what we tried first time round. The
reason we moved to the render tag was because the quote marks in the
text from the placeholder were terminating the string early (it is a
WYSIWYG field using the Telerik Editor). We are able to use your
technique fo

Hi Lise,
I'm sure there's a reason , but why not just use the Headline
placeholder?

Hi Daniel,
Sounds similar to the issue we had with image placeholders, we would
just get the GUID out, as we were doing it all in pre-execute, turns
out it was too early in the page lifecycle to grab the information, so
we switched to an attribute placeholder to get the file name of the
image, not

Dumb question, but does any one know of any reason other than not
having a session that you would get a please login error returned? We
have a session, but are starting to get please login errors.

Hi Both,
I think it is the 101, we get "Server was unable to process request.

Please login" from the Rusty Logic framework on a couple of calls
(create page, pageSearch.Execute), I think it is timing out, but just
wanted to check for any other possible causes, as the session is fine

Hi Kristaps,
We had the same issue getting them into c# strings, in the end we went
for:
string descr = @"<%!!
Escape:HtmlEncode(Context:CurrentPage.Elements.GetElement(String:text).Value) !!
%>";
which seems to work well for us, we do of course have to unencode it
later.

the Red Dot databses as part of it, but we are on v9, which, in the
documentation only shows SQL 2005 as supported. Has anyone else run
v9 on SQL 2008 R2? Or tried it and failed? Or is the only route to
