Hi,
I finally managed to get my firewall server up (Thanks to everyone on
the list who helped).
I want to be able to administer the server remotely. But the only
problem I have is that I don't know how to transfer files from my
workstation to the server via SSH. Can anyone point me in the directi
Hi,
Yeah I know it works, because I ran the file using sh. I have fully
tested the firewall and I am happy with it. But I am trying to get it to
load at boot.
I am just worried that it is going to conflict with the existing
iptables config file.
So far, what I have done is:

Hi,
Ok, I have set up my rules and compiled them. Fwbuilder seems to have
created a script in my home directory. It doesn't look like an iptables
ruleset so I presume I shouldn't replace the iptables file with it.
Where should I put it? , and do I need to deactivate anything else to
avoid conflic
Hi,
Does anyone know what package in Red Hat
9 pico is located in? I cant seem to find it in the applications list.

Hi,
I am having problems running the Mozilla browser.
When I first installed RedHat, I didn’t choose to
install Mozilla. Later, while I was logged in under my personal account (Not
root) I installed Mozilla, which obviously asked me for root password.
It seemed to install fine.
Hi,
I am trying to run the Red Had Update Agent, and no matter
what I do all I keep getting is a message saying:
“Problem registering username”
I have tried using my account info that I use on www.redhat.com and I have also tried
registering for a new account, but it just keeps
That did it, thanks. =0)

Thanks for the reply.

I read up on this and it sounded absolutely perfect for me. After a few
problems I finally managed to get it installed, but now I dont know
where its executable is.
I have done a search for a fwbuilder file and looked in all the
application locations I know of, to no avail.

OK thanks, that got me in.
I used Webmin to configure the "Linux Firewall" which I presume is
iptables. But since I have been using mostly the GUI so far I am not
sure where the iptables rules file is located. Can anyone tell me?
Thanks.

Hi,
I seem to have locked myself out of the XServer with some over zealous
FireWall rules. How do I get into the terminal without booting into the
XServer?
Thanks

My system is Red Hat Linux 9.
At the moment it's just a test box while I get used to the OS. I have
been tasked with setting up a webserver with mail support. I have been
using LAMP for a while so I am quite happy with that, but SendMail is
still a mystery.
We have a separate machine that we use
Thanks for the tip,
Does it come with a GUI? Or can I get one from somewhere?

OK here's another newbie question.
If I install an application from an .rpm file, how do I remove it later?
P.S. I am getting a book this weekend so I won't be so ignorant =0)

I just downloaded this and it looks very nice. But I am wondering if I
can look at the firewall config file because I want to make sure
firestarter is blocking spoofs etc.
Anybody know where to find the file firestarter uses?
Thanks.
