the communicator 4.04 rpm or tar
file that would be my recommendation. Another thing that cause my
communicator to foul up is the install of gcc-2.8.0... I would recommend
against this as well until 2.8.0 is futher tested.

Depends on the shell, are you using sh? csh? If you telnet to a SUN
machine and your shell is sh, then a .profile file is read, with csh,
.cshrc and .login are read. you might try just typing "hostname" at the
prompt to see if you are getting proper feedbac

It is my opinion that if someone says ANYTHING is "perfectly secure" on
any computer system that is attached to the internet, they are not only

eo card correctly... If it's an old ISA video card I guarantee
that's the problem. I would recommend a Matrox Mill. II. It works very
well for me on my PII/300.

No, rpm -Uhv updates rpms that are already installed, and installs those
that are not. I know because all I use is rpm -Uhv to install or update
files. my suggestion would be to write a quick script that does a rpm
-q and if it returns anything then run rpm -Uhv

3.7 from RedHat and it imports xls files. I believe
it only supports up to version 5.0 of Excel, but if you are running
Office 97 you can always save the xls file as an older version file.
