Redundant? No. It's just common sense to know everything that's in your

Well.. there's the dummy message which is put into the mail files
(like.. DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE, or whatever). mail interprets it as a
seperate message instead of ignoring it (like the clients that create the

Linux can only reside on um.. is it up to hdb or hdc? I was once told that
Linux (the boot patition) cannot be on hdd (secondary slave).

I use 3 on an x86 by default, 4 if I want to seperate /home:
1) about 5MB /boot -> first partition on the drive to steer clear of that
cyllindar 1023 issue on x86's.
2) Most of the disk for /
3) swap.. I do twice my RAM.. but it gets to a point where it's just overkill.
