I did read your entire post - but you've sent your message to

tried the Rawhide package - which is the bleeding edge packages from Red
Hat, not SuSE.

Why are you using a SuSE package? Instead, simply download Abiword-2.0
from Rawhide.

Emphasis on the "trying". It is *very* trying.
I try the SuSE package, and get
error: Failed dependencies:
libcrypto.so.0.9.6 is needed by abiword-2.0.0-SuSE.ulb.2
libnautilus.so.2 is needed by abiword-2.0.0-SuSE.ulb.2
