I believe the updates may be generated because you have the DNS cache
client enabled. This service is not required but is optional in that it
maintains a cache of DNS lookups that this machine has performed rather
than querying the DNS server.

server which in turn serves as gateway to 3 win2000prof systems. in
all 4 win 2000 systems RH7.2 is set as primary DNS. why does the dns
log shows a million lines like:
