Hello list,
Given the wide response of recommendations and problems, I have this advice
to offer. If it does not work, try a shorter length of cable. I have seen
with some motherboards, that they do not provide enough power to the mouse
and keyboard ports and as such, a long KVM cable does not

I've been using a Cybex 4-port KVM for 1 Win2k, and 3 Linux boxes. It
works like a charm...

Avocent (née Cybex) is a good choice. Raritan is also good although ex
I have exactly the same keyboard/mouse problems with Belkin switches!

I have been using a Belkin Omni Cube also with resolution up
to 1600 x 1200 on both Linux and Win2K machines without any

I would recommend AGAINST using any Belkin KVMs. We've had nothing but
problems with them. If you have a Windoze box and a Linux box with the
GUI running on the same KVM, when you switch from the Windoze box to the
Linux box it messes your mouse up. The mouse will start randomly moving
all over
I can recommend the Belkin Omni Cube. I have been using that for a
couple of years with not problems. I am also using a wireless optical
mouse with no issues.

I recommend iogear. It comes in all in one piece and you hit the scroll
lock rapidly twice and it switches to the other computer.
I have used it with redhat 8 and w2k. Also with lindows.
It cost about 29-39 i think.

Hello Reuben,
I've used a 4 port D-link for almost a year now. I've been impressed
since I first received it for christmas.
I've never had to rebooted any boxen just X(As my mouse issue was with xfree
and has since been corrected).
As for your resolution I would recommend good vid shielded cabl

I tried a Linksys KVM before this one and it would not always work correctly
requiring a reboot of either the linux or the W2k machine.
I strongly recommend against the Linksys KVMs. I've had wo

Hello,
Does anyone has recommendation for KVM switch? I plan to use it to run Linux
(Redhat 7.3) and Win2K with PS2 keyboard & mouse. The cheaper the better, but
trying to find the one with very minimal / no video degradation at 1400x1050,
as my linux runs on that resolution on 19 inc monitor.
