On a Dual head machine is it possible to run a different window manger
on each head?
If so how where would one look for enlightenment?

Utilize FluxBox a new and very lightweight window manager, it's very
easy to configure as well.

It's difficult to tell from the original message, but it might be
fixed by just using the monitor settings to shrink the horizontal size
or use xvidtune to adjust the placment. The fact that multiple window
managers have the same problem make me think it's more a setting like

it's in the XF86Config file... There's options in there where you tell the
manager the size of the virtual screen...

Hi.
Thanks to Chuck Mead for the answer to my previous question.
I am new to X and some things are a bit strange.
Every windows manager (Gnome KDE XFCE) creates a screen about
an inch too wide to see. Some of them will pan (not XCFE) but there must be

XFce is making a bit of news today as an XFce user squares off with
Michael J. Hammel over his exclusion of XFce for consideration of his
articles for LJ.

I read all of the responses I got and found the best way to set up the dual
boot based on what different people said. My situation was as follows:
Windows NT workstation with one 6.4 Gig IDE hard drive
First of all, a big thanks to everyone who explained setting up a dual boot
NT/Linux system. I got it working flawlessly. (...and I didn't need to
re-install NT!)
Now, I have a question relating to window managers. I prefer AfterStep as my
window manager, which is what I have chosen
"AfterStep" in redhat 5 is really fvwm made to look sorta like afterstep.
Rh 5.1 does include afterstep (for real) however. Not sure about the font
thing, but you should have the .xinitrc right (when I was runnig as I used
exec afterstep).

I have recently installed RH 5.0 on a system with a STB Velocity 128/RIVA
128 video chipset. Because of this chipset, I was forced to install the new
XFree86 3.3.2 to get X support.
Unfortunately, when I installed the new version of XFree86, all of my

try 'afterstep'. Now, I cannot find a way to get back to the initial fvwm95
