Hi,
I just recompiled the kernel-2.2.17-14. Here what is filling my logs:
Mar 9 12:57:40 rlevesque modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-6
Mar 9 12:58:12 rlevesque last message repeated 5 times
Mar 9 12:59:16 rlevesque last message repeated 2 times
etc.
I am tryi
`rescue' mode. :-/
The sound module (cs4232) is still not loading at boot, but I'm sure it
will once I edit module.conf and add the appropriate entries. In the
meantime, I have successfully loaded the module manually w/ `modprobe
cs4232'.

You may need to pass some options to the sound modules (as I do), in order for it to
recognize which system resources to use (irq, dma, etc). You'll need to find out what
resources your sound card is using, since they may be different than on my system.

My modules are *not* loading at boot. I get the following two error
messages regarding the sound modules:
modprobe: Can't locate module cs4232
rc.sysinit: Loading sound mod

Howdy,
I just installed RH 6.2 on a new box with a good ol' Linksys LNE100TX NIC (uses tulip
module). The installer failed to detect the NIC at all, so I'm trying to add it
manually. I did as much as I could with linuxconf but I upon startup, during init
starting, I see the eth0 error "can't
Hi, I am receiving this on my RH6.2 server in the messages log.
Does anyone know what is causing this, and how I can fix it?
It seems to have started soon after or during a system reboot.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Enrico
