The power transformer in the 301 scope has died. Does anyone
know where I might find the transformer or a junker for parts ?
This scope is used in both the CE-3 and CE-5.
Thanks

I have often wondered just how diffucult it would to be to build
a D-Star system around a Micor or M2. D-Star is mostly open
protocol (except for the software which is propriatry to Icom),
the AMBE vocoder chips are available from the manufacturer, and
GMSK modem chips are also available.

I have an old DOS program which was written by someone long ago. It
only runs on true DOS computers, and will generate an EPROM image. You
must then program your 2716 or 2732 using a Eprom programmer. I have
not programmed one of these in years.
I believe it is freeware, so if you want a copy let
We have a bunch of SS-32's (the predecessor of the SS-64)and we key
the CTCSS on ond off by simply switching the supply voltage into the
board. This works well for eliminating the ID tones on links as well
as EchoLink repeaters. We just let the xmit tone follow the rcv tone.

I am in need of a 162.2Hz (5B) reed like the KLN6209A for a Micor
station I am converting. Will eithr buy outright or swap.
Thanks

A good point It might be money well spent to consult a lawyer and
perhaps set up a LLC (limited liability corp) to own the property
(while you own the LLC).
This would limit your liability in case of a scenario such as Rich
mentions.
You might eve

I recently got an old Micor station with this power supply. Does
anyone know the current rating of this supply? It appears to have the
two M9698 pass transistors mounted on an external heat sink instead of
the chassis mounted casting. Was this a Motorola mod or a mod from
some tech who got tired
The CAT1000 has 8 outputs, pins 5,6,&7 are outputs 1,2,&3. Just
connect to 3 other outputs ( ex. pins18,19,&20) and change the output
statements in your macros to reflect the change. Do not use the same
pins or you will have interaction between the two devices.

The CRT display in my old CE5 has gotten so dim that I have to turn
the lights off to use it. Does anyone know the CRT tube number used in
it so I can start looking for one? (It is much easier asking than

I dont know if this is what you are running into or not, but we ran
into the same thing when attempting to use the Motorola Maxtrac/Radius
series with an external controller. We use the ones without the 16 pin
accy connector because they can be had very reasonably. All
connections are thru the fr
What about removing the 4" speaker from its enclosure and replacing it
with two of the small oval speakers like the ones found like the ones
found in the front of the Maxtracs ?

I dont think the exciter puts out very much power. The manual states
that the first of the 4 stages in the PA module puts out 300 mw and
has a gain of 11.8 db. This would put the exciter output in the 20 mw
range.

Sounds like it might be rg-17, rg-218, of rg-219.
rg-17 has about the same attenuation as 9913 at 450mhz.
Not nearly as good as LDF5

Our group recently acquired a Micor UHF station with the high

standard one for the UHF station so that it will match all our other

You could put an opto-isolator in SERIES with the LEDS, then use the
isolated transistoe output to trigger your controller.

Around 1998 or so, a company called Morris Softronics made one of
these. It sold for around $200. I think they are no longer made. What
we finally did on our repeater was to use an old Maxtrac with a zapped
final and feed the audio to a homemade decoder tuned to 1050hz. It
used a 567 decoder and a
The 1050 hz tone is the original arert tone that was used
before the SAME system was installed. It is still transmitted
with a duration of 8-10 seconds,is not area specific and will
give a warning for the whole coverage area of the station, sometimes
as much as 5000 square miles.

The TLD2600 series continuous duty amplifier is nearly identical
to the Micor. You might be able to scrounge some from an old
amp.
The intermittant duty amp is different and even uses NPN
power transistors!

You can buy 2" structual steel tubing in 20' lengths in wall
thickness from 0.049 to 0.5 inches. You will either have to paint
it or have it galvanized. Just bought some for a HF antenna project.
The thicker wall sizes are pretty heavy; 0.5 inch is about
8 lbs per foot.
