Norm,
The purpose of using 1/2 WL transmission lines to connect to each side of the
variable capacitor is to get the cap as close as possible to the coupling loop.
The 1/2 WL

You would not be restricted to using DB/Andrew/DB-Spectra loops
if the proper type and size were available from another source.
Regardless, the price is probably going

i looked at this duplexer, but those are pass/reject cavities. the cavities
that i have are just notch with no pass. they have a single loop in each
cavitiy.
I would love to know how to make these into pass/reject, but that will not
happen with these. there is a second hole with a cap, that
As far as i have measured to this point, some where between 2 to 3db loss with
3 notches per side, with less loss on .125 and more loss on .625.
the RX is .625 and tx is .125.
1) It looks like i could put 4 notches on .125 and 2 notches on .625 to reduce
losses on .625. am i totally wrong in
i looked at them a few weeks ago, if i center the notch on the .625 3 notches
look like 66 to 70db with about 2 db loss.
I can make the loss less by rotating the loops, but the notches go from about
30db each to just about 20db each.
i looked at the pass cans. they will give about 12 to

I will look to see if DB/andrew/ who ever owns them now, still make loops for
these. I have considered fabricating some spare loops just to have on hand.
