Does anyone have a good circuit to use a non-spectra tac receiver with a voter?
That is, besides the one on the Repeater-Builder web site. Alternatively, does
anyone have any status tone encoder cards for the Spectra Tac?
Thanks
Will
Has anyone encountered this problem with the Spectra Tac receivers? I
have a number of receivers that are having an issue of the squelch
being opened up by something in the circuitry ramping up a voltage.
Or at least that is what I believe. The problem is that the receiver
only has the PL
problems as well.
5) Be sure that your guard tome level is set to -13dbm, any lower and the
receiver will false
Hope this helps.

Has anyone had much luck with a specra tac voter? I found one at a
good price, but I was wanting to know if it would be worth messing
with for my amateur repeater. I was told that they require a 100%
transmit on the links, but someone else also told me that they could
be used normally as well.
Jordan,
You are correct when you say that, in *standard* configuration, they do
require a 100% status tone on the line. HOWEVER, there was a discussion a
while back about using the SpectraTAC system and modifying it so you didn't
need the status tone to vote... but I can't find where that was

Hi, Kevin
I'm pretty sure that's how I followed the conversation, too. However,
Jordan was the one who was actually looking for the information on how to do
it.
My system is up and running happily with the status tone - and since the

Yes please assemble the Spectra Tac info.
I actually have a comparator and receiver shelf on my bench working on a way
to use the two (and more recievers) without the status tone.
I have heard of people inserting the status tone at the link receiver end,
and several other ideas.

I found my prints. I have modified schematics and board layouts of the SQM.
I will scan them in the morning at work and try to send them to you.

Hi All,
There is always Motorola's amplified speakers, like the NSN-6048, which has a10 watt audio amp built into the speaker. These are used in the convert-a-coms.
Give it the speaker output and 12 volts and stand back! Their Loud!

Do you have the pin-out for the connector to the amplified speaker?
I have one that I would like to use in a large 4-wheel drive... a

He's not joking folks! No volume control save for what you feed it. I was
testing a phone patch with one and the DTMF tones almost ran me out of the
