He is on a lake in Ompah, Ontario. I don't remember the carrier name, it's
been a few years. I'll have to ask him. I know that he was on the fringes of
the analog coverage, but he told me that the new digital coverage (with a

has interfaced these to thier repeater for 911. I think it would be a
worthwhile project but with the number of cell phone everyone has I don't know
how much use if any it would get. These phones do not seem to

I'm curious how they got the auto patches to work with
the cell phones, the wire pin-outs and so on. I do

They used to sell bag phones with an RJ-11 port built in. A customer of
mine had a home type answering machine plugged in to his so he didn't
have to use our voice mail system.

The company I work for has already been put on notice in writing that
Cingular/ATT and Verizon are actually shutting down the very day that
regulation ends in Mid Feb 2008. Others will follow soon.

A friend of mine has a cabin in rural Canada. I connected a bag phone to a
900Mhz cordless phone using the Motorola interface they used to sell. He put
the bag phone up high in the top floor of the cabin and takes the cordless
phone around with him (even out on the boat). It works great, but
