I was just thinking about using my old DR-570 for a cross band repeater
project. (it's the one with the repeat switch on the top). At www.mods.dk
there is a mod for expander rf and cross band repeater mod that says:
"6. Remove the two pin connector to disable audio bleed in repeater mode."

If you jump up to the 902 band, there is an established Itinerant Repeater
Pair in SERA Land and some other states which are patterned after SERA's
Bandplan...
In many of those areas 927.4875/902.4875 is available for Mobile or

I went and checked for MVP's in closed eBay auctions and found none at all.
I check periodically and find them selling for $75-$150 for the UHF ones.
