It may be the multi disc setting. I have a compilation that I digitised

I agree that mp3tag is pretty easy to pick up for simple operations like
this. But mp3tag can be very powerful, so make sure you have a current
backup of your music library before you start fixing the tags in mp3tag.
Having a current backup is always a good idea anyway.
Guys, that's brilliant thank you! I found a SET setting in WMP 'Advanced
Tag Editor', which I set to 1/2 and 2/2, but this didn't do anything
even after making sure that multi-disc setting was set to not see them
as single albums.
Looks like this weekend will be spent down loading MP3Tag and

I have a few albums that are across 2 cds that are ripped as separate
albums, so on the file system they are shown as: MyMusic Artist
Album Disk 1 and then MyMusic Artist Album Disk 2.
Is there any way of tagging these so that they show up as one album in
LMS? I've tried the disc 1/2 - 2/2
My preferred Windows tagging application is Mp3tag. In cases such as
this I usually load all the files from all discs into Mp3tag, then
make sure that the album title is the same across all, then I use
auto-number (CRTL-K) to apply a sequential track number across all
tracks. Also, all files are
I do use the disc # tag and have no trouble. The key is to make sure
that the album title is identical and all tracks of both CD's are in the
same folder like Rigsby said. On my file naming I also do disc #
track # track title so that the double albums sort correctly in
whatever file manager you
It shouldn't be necessary to put all files in one folder for LMS to
recognise that they belong together.
But make sure that the titles are all the same, and use the discnumber
tag to denote which CD the tracks belong to.
As recommended above Mp3tag is an excellent tool for this.
LMS Version:
LMS can do what you want quite easily. What I don't think anyone has
mentioned yet is that there's a setting in LMS about whether or not to
treat multi-disc albums as a single album. Sorry, but I don't have LMS
in front of me to give you the specific tab and location within LMS
settings.
The
If you have the Group Discs option set to treat multi-disc sets as a
single album, and you correct the tagging of an album, you may also find
that it requires a full clear library rescan to get LMS to consolidate
the set into a single album. A new changed scan doesn't always work.
