1. How is the program audio loaded into the system, dropbox,
manually...? (can you control the max length this way)
2. If you want your program closer to always play can you use a
"hardtime start" on this instead? (is fading out the program acceptable)

seems like permissions on filesystem. Did you create a specific rivendell
user, didn't?

Ok Just got the whole web thing figured
out (I think). It's now all in /var/www/rd-bin/ and I have
/etc/httpd/conf.d/rd-bin.conf in place with the correct path for
/var/www/rd-bin/ where it had those variables. I did a restart of
apache (service httpd restart) and
Unfortunately, an ASI card is not "in the cards" for us right now. . .

Here are some things I have considered:

How much "wobble" is there to the timing of the program elements in question?
If it is not an unreasonable amount, I would think an ASI card with
timesqueeze/stretch capabilities would be the best solution.
Enforce the playout time to be - say - exactly 13 minutes. The card calculates

You can use these little machines for airplay and production, but
run CAE on a server with more slots and as many audio I/O's as you need.

Do you know where in the Rivendell documentation/wiki this process is
described; how to set up and configure such a playout sys

Hi,
We're using M-Audio 44, M-Audio 66, M-Audio 1010LT et M-Audio 1010 for

To be honest, I've had to use USB sound cards in some situations. I've
had an emu 0202 running for well over 6months serving a stream to
icecast. I've recently swapped the whole setup to liquidsoap with a
different USB sound card (the brand escapes me at the moment) and its
been running for n

Rivendell uses Apache and a web cgi
script to do the importing/exporting. This was so that you could
lock down the /var/snd permissions.
It does seem confusing until you realise all you need to do is
make sure the Rivendell web components are in place corr
I know where /etc/rd.conf is but I've
not seen a rd-bin.conf or rdexport. my /var/snd/ is set to be
owned by the same user:group that the rivendell daemons run as and
it is also chmod'd to 777 (everyone do everything)

There isn't a set script for deletion
other than manually writing an SQL query and doing the clean up
with the files.
Just curious have you tried setting cart/cut expiry dates and
changing the purge settings to remove them? (To be honest I'm not
sure
That sounds more like a permissions problem... In my case GUI edit and
deleting are ok, but I wanted do it by script.
I think you should check rd-bin.conf setup, rdxport chmod/setuid, var/snd
owner/chmod... but I always have problems facing the real guilty.

They seem almost identical. XLR mic instead of TRS, and TRS(bal)

Please, give us a feedback.. I think we probably need mainly RCA
input/output connections on the rear... If you can test them all.
Thank you in advance!

Hey guys,
could you find a way to remove cart by command line tools? Something
like "rdlibrary --delete-cart=XYZ"..
At the moment we manually delete XYZ.wav from /var/snd plus deleting
record in db from "cart" table about cart XYZ. But I am afraid about
ruining the entire db.
Thank you
