I'd generally push for XLR in most cases if there's space. Otherwise I'd
look for D-type (assuming it's for external use) or screw terminals
(internal use).

Any GPIO pins they could offer out
Hi,
Yes XLRs fit fine on 1U but not with the Pi Underneath it. You
basically have this set up (ripped from IQ Audio's email):
1U ~ 40mm
5mm spacer under pi
2mm pi pcb
12mm spacer (to clear pi components)
2mm DAC Hat
Leaves: 19mm to fit XLR connectors.

Not a stupid question, and more than a decent response, considering

Hi,
Just to be clear, I'm nothing to do with IQ Audio, I just asked them if
they did any XLR boards a few months back. They emailed back the same
day saying interesting idea and they'll look into it. Now they're
asking more questions and are planning a prototype for the next month or
so

Yes, but consider this picture:

If you mount the xlr on the audio board and then
XLR Should work in a 1 u environment I have 1u gear with xlr on the back.

Hi,
I've been contacted by the IQAudio Pi HAT guys (iqaudio.co.uk).
They're looking into the potential of having a balanced XLR output
board for the Pi. I know what we would
