I'm running mysql 5.0.32. So - why the 4.1 schema is fine but the
other one isn't I don't know :) Is it an error in the non 4.1 schema
or ??
It seems that naming of that upgrade file is somewhat misleading based
on the problems people are having because they did not follow those
You need to follow the instructions if you are upgrading from 3.8 to
3.8.1 no matter what your mysql database version is. That's my
understanding.
Ah. My understanding of the UPGRADING.mysql doc was that you needed to
run it for converting from mysql 4.0 to 4.1.Since my 3.6.x install

Hi all,
Working great rt, one problem, if there is a new comment to a ticket I can't
see on the start page. I only see if I controll the ticket.
Is there any plugin or sript to (for example) change the color of the ticket

I am right with you. It's like there is a missing step somewhere. Have you
found anything?

I 'think' it would be

You can check what the server is running by using telnet on port 80.
telnet localhost 80
HEAD / HTTP 1.0
It should respond with the server header and installed modules (usually).
In most apache/mod_perl installs it should be working as is. The files
to load it are in
Yeah something is up there, those two responses are completely
different, os and apache version. So make sure the host is valid, you
could probably have it in hosts.conf but it would only work from the
server itself. Also note that the apache/fastcgi config is different
then mod_perl2.
it's working!!
ok i'm just posting this in case anybody comes across it and wants to
find out what happened.
it's pretty simple - i wasnt checking the logs. the apache logs to be
precise which for me are in /var/log/apache2/error.log
the error i was getting was:
DBI
just managed to fix mine.
not sure i can be super helpful but post a copy of your RT_SiteConfig
and the entire of -default and i'll have a look when i'm next free.

Hey guys,
Im working upgrading a test installation of 3.8.0 to 3.8.1 and am
getting an error while running the mysql upgrade script. We have been
running mysql 4.1 for a while now and I didn't realize until yesterday
by reading through the list that I needed to upgrade the RT schema. I
When I click Tickets in the RT interface, a mason_handler.fcgi is
spawned that spins for 30 seconds before it returns my page. This also
happens when I change the query at all (i.e. the page reloads).

Good call! It looks like all the users in the database are there. In
3.2.2 this was only privileged users (~500 people). That worked fine.
Maybe this happened because a couple queues have given the Everybody
group the Owner privilege?
Do you know of a workaround?
I'd be nice if this were in
Can I get an admin to remove this guy?

That's a feature that our users requested (to be more like bugzilla). I
can't just remove it.
Is there a way to limit it to privileged users (a la 3.2.2)?
Steve: how did you convert to a text box. Is it a straightforward patch?

It's a simple change to html/Search/Elements/PickBasics (we're using RT
3.4.2):
/Elements/SelectOwner, Name = ValueOfActor, ValueAttribute
I'm try to use rt-dump-database to move RT configs between development and
production, but am confused by how it's supposed to be used.
rt-dump-database takes an optional parameter to turn $LocalOnly on/off and
it is on by default. This means no ACLs get dumped. If I turn it off, then
it goes

Thanks. I got it working. Here's the patch I needed for 3.8.1.
