What I do is spin up a VM with my OS of choice and install the exact same
version of RT as my old server. I then dump the DB and import into the
new server and verify data is correct and RT is operational.Lastly, I

Having an issue upgrading our internal RT instance.
It’s been running 4.0.8 for a while now with no real issue. I had to perform
some maintenance on the host so thought I’d throw the RT upgrade on at the same
time. Usually the upgrades are pretty painless.. but this one is the exception

It sounds like you are using a newer version of MySQL. You must follow
the MySQL upgrade procedures even if you were using MySQL 4.0 or lower
prior to moving to 3.8.1 The upgrade docs falsely give the impression
that this is only the case when moving to MySQL 4.1+ from MySQL 4.0.

and modules as per README file. I am using external authentication and

Much to my surprise, Stephen Turner and Roy El-Hames have pointed out
that I missed a possible DB change. I looked at the "content" file in
3.5.1 (coming from 3.4.4 that was all I needed to look at) and the only
thing I see that I missed was a couple of options for the homepage
