I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 19.04. Trying
ruft under ~/.sage/temp/HOSTNAME. Over 6000
directories. The one that showed up when running strace ./sage was 809:

-r-
just call:
sage
or
sage -n
The later for the notebook.
I'm running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Hope that helps

I'm trying to figure out how to orient a 3D plot. I found a keyword
'orientation' that takes 4 parameters, but I don't know that they are.
Can anyone explain them?
Thanks,
Andy

Its possible there is something strange in my environment, though I don't
think so. I simply untared it into a directory and made a symbolic link to
the sage startup script. I just call that as 'sage -n'.
I'll continue on with the development version for now.

critical. I'm re-learning the calculus I studied 35+ years ago, and
exploring sage at the same time.

Can 6.1.1 be upgraded to with sage -upgrade, or would I need to do a fresh
install?

Any suggestions for how to diagnose it or fix it?
