I don't see a generic use for your 2nd request.

by sorting priority. Cool! thanks
2. how about next release, after v4?
Or you do not want to add it at all?
Does anybody else need it, except me?

Forgot one thing in my previous post :-)
You could also run it localy (that *could* work even if Netbios is disabled)
and collect output as partial HTML files that are "assembled" on a remote
webserver...

Check like diskspace, service, process and perfmon all use Netbios.
SNMP is the best option you have.
(maybe writing an external check that uses WMI could work too, not realy
sure what ports that uses - could still be Netbios/RPC)

As an ongoing security effort, we are disabling netbios and eliminating
administrative shares on our production servers. The space checks, services
checks and perfmon checks no longer work.
I would prefer staying with the normal spaces,services checks and perfmon
checks and not use SNMP checks do
Using groups and dependency's your first request will be possible.
The 2nd won't be added to v4.

Thanks to all for the help replies.
I've been testing the install and it seemed that the problem lay with
authentication. With that in mind I established the following;

Hello salive,
1. Is there any way to change priority of host checking?
For example, I have a 20 entries, i add 21 and I want it to be
checked after #12, but not after 20.
2. make more flexible URL checking.
Some of my paged do checking

Hello Mark,
This can be done by server side script (asp for example)

asp_statuschangedate = " "
Days_change = Round(CurrnetDate - asp_statuschangedate,0)
Hours_change = Round((CurrnetDate - asp_statuschangedate)*24,0)

Does the Servers Alive service run as the local account? Even though you
specify privileges in the system checks, the SA service may not have
sufficient rights to get out to the network if it's running as "Local
System."

All we do is pull each of the j*.log files to a central point from all of
our servers dotted throughout the UK and the VB script appends the files

text file and searches for the Workstation ID and then the Last Elapsed Time

Have you let it run through a few

All,
I am

Hi,
Annexed you will find some "homemade" scripts used to analyse the contents
of Arcserve log files and return error codes. Those scripts are only a
portion of our management automated tasks.
They cannot be use "as is" but i hope you can take some part of code to
integrate in your own systems.

I agree. I have never looked at using SA to do this task. Is it possible ?
I have used Arcserve for the past 5 years. We have developed our own
in-house VB script to check this.
