I got an evil idea to take this further: if you really want to duct-tape
a ServersAlive testing system together, you could just set up a browser
somewhere to hit your ServersAlive template, and have the template page
itself automatically email you whenever it hadn't been updated in a
while. For ex
Interesting idea! You could do it with an ASP web template pretty
easily. You can add the below code to an existing template, or add a
new one with just this code, which checks to see if the template has
been updated in the last 15 minutes:

The SMTP server you're using in SA probably refuses to
forward messages to VZW. Try checking the "Send Direct" mail in the
ServersAlive SMTP setup screen.
Refusing to forward for other domains is a pretty common
effort to stop spam.

Part of the confusion may be that in the freeware version the database

I am having trouble getting my HTML page to go to
the webserver. I can FTP the file OK with an FTP program, but when Servers
Alive trys to send it after a check the log says:

I would like to see a new status code for when a check has been placed in maintenance
due scheduleing as opposed to a manual request in the GUI.

So my feature request then would be a global option to either use the current method

Little remark on the version of SA you're using: UPGRADE :-) to at least
4.0.1376 (http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/download.asp) or better the
latest beta build (http://beta.woodstone.nu)

My first hunch would be that none of the checks have been set up to use
that template. On the main ServersAlive window, click on one of your
checks and click Edit. Go to the Output tab, and on the left side
you'll see a window that says "Include on below HTML Pages". It's
probably empty.

This one got me as well for a while, have you selected the template to use

Hi Brent, thanks for your email!
I've got IIS setup and understand ASP, well kinda :)
I go into SA and click setup, select output then HTML page, then default
page. The page name is test.asp. I've selected its template based and
selected one of your template files (which is in my wwwroot dir) and
Hi, Mark! I'm the guy who wrote the templates.
On the page you linked to, I've got several tutorials that explain how
the ASP code works, but I guess I'm missing some basic info.
There's a great getting-started tutorial about ASP at

I understand that the sorting is important and that it should be "kept"
over sessions.
But we're somehow limited by the controls we use. We select the tree
control we currently have because of it's possibilities and it's
options. Sorting it possible via the GUI part of the tree, however

OK.
Negotiation can start. :)
I use SA on big monitor, which is over our heads, where I want see, where is
checking now and what is wrong.
I use version where GUI scrolls.
And I prefer sorting by entries. It's logical from my point of view.
Can you advise me?
Maybe I have bad point of view... ;)
Sorting isn't saved in v4 that's correct.

Hi all,
can you help me with these questions? ;)
1. When I make some changes in GUI with columns and sorting and after that I
