I’ve installed 6.3.2366 and it does fix the issue.
Thank you,

OK found the problem.
You "only" get it if you first add a PERSON for authentication and then want
also to add a person/team to an alert.
Next beta upload will hava a fix for it.

I was just modifying a few checks and found that when I try to add a person or
team to SMTP mail recipients, the person / team does not get added. I tried
using double click and by clicking the Add button.

Some development - I realised that the failed check wasn't appearing in the
event log because it wasn't set to audit failed login attempts (doh!).
So, having enabled that, I've done two further tests. Note - this is on a

That does make sense…I think :-)
Could you send me (off list!) the entries file, a dump of the SA registry and
tell me what entries are giving the problems (UID of them, at least of one of
them)

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Mark’s SAweb allow for the
creation of host checks?.
For me as much integration of the GUI interface into a Web portal would be
ideal. This would allow for such things as mobile devices being able to
maintain and manipulate SA from anywhere.

If you look at how the authentication works, from a coding point of view, then
it works for all 4 Windows based check types or it doesn't :-)
If some are working and some are not in your setup, then I would suggest to

An update to this - quite a few checks seem to be not working with the new

except that it *does* seem to be working on some checks!

The logging you show is mostly about MIB lookups (and this is due to the same
installer issue that causes the groups.grp not to be "moved" to the new
location).
When you get the access denied, can you see on the (remote)system what user is
being used for the login?

(Sorry I seem to be flooding the list today!)
I've found a strange problem with the new user management stuff. It's working
fine with most of the checks I've changed so far, but one (a perfmon memory
check) only seems to work if I set the username within the check (as before).

Hi Dirk,
I know you want to keep the built-in webserver/SAWeb functionality as
streamlined as possible, but would it be possible to have some limited template

Really like the new user management feature. One thing that is (potentially)
slightly confusing is the fact that when you set up a user as an SA person, and
use that person in a check, the original "password" field is still there,
although it seems to be ignored. (I know this *now* because I'm
