Solved the problem. Apparently it has nothing to do with Samba, but with the CGI script ChangePassword (http://changepassword.sourceforge.net) which used the string LTC instead of LCT in smbpasswd entries. I edited the affected smbpasswd entries and changed LTC to LCT, and now it works. Mark --

Hi guys I have a Samba server running as a member server on an NT 4.0 domain, using winbind to bring users across. All Windows NT services are able to connect to the server, except for NTBackup. NTBackup can see the mapped drives but does not see anything inside them. Any ideas?s   Tom

It does exist. On a Mandrake box, if you change to the profile directory: cd /var/lib/samba/profiles/[username] and then use /../../../home/%U/Trash then what you find is that you are in the /home/[username]/Trash directory which lies within the bounds of the homes share. The idea was
