i get these errors:
smbd[5096]: create_policy_hnd: ERROR: too many handles (1025) on this
pipe.
I believe this has been fixed in the latest version of cups.

Also if your underlying file system could make a big difference. For
instance the default formatting and mounting of a XFS formatted drive
may not give you the best performance.
