Hi everyone
I've been trying to setup samba file sharing with acl support for the
past few days. I recompiled my kernel with acl support, and have verified
that setfacl and getfacl are working properly.
I compiled samba on my test machine with acl enabled, and was able to

I've got nss_ldap setup to look at the local ldap directory, but when I
have two servers on the passwd backend line, it can't bind. It get to
where it trys to bind, and then it just freezes. Any other ideas? I'm
sure I had this working before. Thanks for your help

This is the correct one. Make sure no other service depends on master
ldap when you're bring down the master (ie nss_ldap).
Also plse check the log.

I've configured samba 3.0.4 with LDAP as the backend. I've configured
samba to use the ldap directory, which works fine, my problem is when I
add two two servers into the smb.conf file it sees the first(master)
ldap server, but if I bring that server down it takes forever for it to

I recently installed samba 3.0.4 with ldap on fedora core 1 and 2.
Eveything works fine except for when I turn on tls which I need for
secuity. I get tls handshake errors and nothing will work. I had the
same setup with redhat 7.1 samba 2.28 and ldap and tls worked great. I
seem to have tra
Hi,
Has any of you successfully configured Samba 3.0.4 to work with AD? I am
not sure that works at all or I should use version 3.0.0.
Thanks,
Vahid.

Hi!
I just downloaded samba-3.0.4 and tried to compile it on AIX 4.3.3
with gcc 2.95.2 using
LDFLAGS="-Wl,-bbigtoc" ./configure --prefix=/bag/samba \
--mandir=/bag/samba/man \
--localstatedir=/usr/local/samba/var \
--with-configdir=/usr/local/samba \
--with-privatedir=/usr/local/samba
I am trying to load Samba 3.0.4 on Motorola PowerMAX
5.1.
Samba is not recognizing the platform when I compile
it. It is bombing out on the config.sub script.
Can you tell me how to get this loaded and what
changes I need to make?
Thanks,
Tom
Hi,
I installed MIT krberos, latest version
BerkeleyDB version 4.2.52
OpenLDAP version 2.1.30
and SAMBA 3.0.4 with the following options:
./configure --with-ldap --with-ads --with-winbind --with-krb5 --with-pam
--with-pam_smbpass
I am trying to authenticate against our win2k AD but I can't seem to
Hello all!
I use samba 3.0.4 with ldap backend.
I've set
guest account = guest
and
map to guest = bad user
But samba still uses nobody as guest account. samba 2.2.8a worked fine.
Is it a bug?
