James 2.2.0 RC3 is a Release Candidate for James version 2.2.0. If there
are no blocking defects, this is what will be called James 2.2.0.
Download: http://cvs.apache.org/builds/james-server/test-build/
The key issue fixed in RC3 is support for MX records that (improperly)
contain an IP address.

No. The code exists, but has not yet been contributed. It is pending.

Brian,
Purely FYI, a user reported a problem (below) when using WinXP with SP1 and
the Advanced Networking Pack for Windows XP, which is the latest code AIUI.
The output from "ipconfig /all", used by FindServer, included:
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 209.115.131.51

Have a
look at the service() method of the RemoteDelivery mailet as this splits a
message into multiple messages depening on target mail server name. Then
you just have to deliver or 'root' (route!) the message according to your
rules.

sorry i forgot to mention that i did up date the MX record for

I download and install the latest release of james below is my config
i have a private network with a router which has a nat setup to forward
all traffic on port 25 to the 192.168.0.13 machine and then the other
machines on the network can
access their email via pop3 which is no problem

I finally got this one solved. There was a mail proxy which proxied all
outgoing messages from james. As James was telling about SEND Auth, this
never reached the client, because the proxy was telling 250 ok, only.
Thanks for your help.

host e.g. mail.domain.com. You then need this host to have an "A" record
giving the ip address of the mail server.
As you arnt using a real domain, you wont have these! If james is running
properly then you should be abl
