have a 89 Daytona Shelby with 2.2 turbo II and a 555. I get a click from the relay when I try to start the car. I bought a new starter, and relay and now the car still does the same thing.Now the wire that goes to the solenoid starts to smoke when I crank it plus no crank just clicks from

So I just dropped the new motor in my 2.2 L shelby charger. That was not fun with the transmission in. I would not recomend that to anyone. Anyway I primed the oilpump before I dropped the motor by spinning the counter shaft really fast by hand. I got oil to come up and out of the cam so I assumed

Is it possible for a short to happen inside a starter? THe brown wire betweek starter relay and starter solenoid in one of my cars is grounded. A circit tester lights up when placed on the battery positive and the brown wire. I checked with a DMM, there is .4 ohms between the negative battery po

It sounds like you've got a short in the wiring someplace. Remove all of the wiring for the starter up to the battery and go over it with a fine tooth comb. Make sure that the ground on the transaxle is in place and that your battery connections are in good shape and clean. As a test, try jum

I got my bosch rebuilt unit for $70 at murray's discount auto parts with a lifetime warrenty... I had an old starter with me to match up to make sure it fit (like I ALWAYS do at discount auto parts stores) so I also got out of the $25 core charge.. even has a heat shield built on! it really seem
