Hi Mark, Jonathan and Tedd touched on some good points which should be checked and ruled out if possible. If you have the capability to check the EI-70 do it. I tried a .350 tip, stiff EI-70 a few years back and couldn't flex it. It was the stiffest "S" flex shaft I have ever attempted to hit. My

Sounds like a great opportunity to test spine orientation!!! Do you have a spine-finder and or frequency analyzer? If so, you could first test whether or not the EI-70 is actually stiffer than the M29. Of course you may have to do some zone testing to really determine the true playing character

Yes they do.  They use a different clamp length (7") and a heavier weight.  The increased clamp length must 'override' the heavier weight as in my experience with the SK shafts their stated CPM's are lower than when I check them with my CS III with its 5" clamp and a 205g weight.  I usually
